The Catacombs

And that's where I finally come in. Shortly after the Dethroned Queen's rise to power, every single member of the military that had opposed her were imprisoned or executed and were replaced by her most faithful servants. I was among the servants that would replaced the now dead organization formerly known as Project Evolution.

Our organization's (whose name I am not allowed to give out) job is to monitor the Earth for any involvement of enemy Fears. Or more accurately the remaining servants of the Fears, who have been attempting to undermine the Dethroned Queen's rule for over twenty years now.

Their oldest objective since the fall of the Fears has been finding a way to enter their former master's domain. Which was made completely impossible when the Fears that ruled them abandoned this universe. That didn't stop the Blind Man's Archivists from spending the last ten years trying to find a way in however.

When I got the report this morning of a portal leading into the Catacombs finally being open, I immediately assumed the Archivists finally succeeded in their goal. But that was not the case, and my superior officers informed me that the portal was created from within the Catacombs itself.

I drove to the source of the portal at Tallahashery University as fast as I could and with the approval of my superiors, I started to examine it.

"Do you think this could have been the Blind Man's doing?" One of the college professors asked.

"Even if the Blind Man was still alive, I doubt he would open a portal that would allow just about anyone to enter it. It's more likely that this is some sort of dimensional bleeding."

"A good guess, but incorrect."

I don't know how it managed to avoid being seen through the portal for so long, but at the moment that was the least of my problems as this new creature entered our world. It looked human but I knew that was merely the form it had chosen to confront us in. It's gender was indeterminate gender, it's hair was auburn hair and ragged, and it's clothes was lopsided clothes. It wore an eye-patch over its right eye, and in its left eye there is was infinity symbol where the pupil should have been.

"What... What the hell are you?"

"I believe you already know what I am Robert Whately." The creature said.

"How do... Never mind, I don't want to know. Just tell me who the hell you are."

"I am the Constant Wanderer, the Fear of repetition, routine, and leading a meaningless life."

"... I I've been a servant for the Dethroned Queen for almost my entire life and I've never heard of you before."

"Of course you haven't, I never had a counterpart on your world."

"Of course there isn't. Look, I know being trapped in the Catacombs has probably put a lot of mental strain on your mind but you aren't a Fear. At best your an Archivist that has been trapped in the Blind Man's endless library for far too long."

"Oh yes, of course that must be the reason I can use this" it said in a sarcastic tone as it pulled out the Blind Man's book.

The Wanderer then opened the book and millions of images assaulted my brain all at once. I saw the memories of the countless people the Blind Man has encountered over the millennium. I was convinced that I was going to have a heart attack, but fortunately the Constant Wanderer closed the Blind Man's book before that could happen.

"Now that my work here is done, I think I'll take the time to explore this world."

"Stop..." I said with what little breath I had left. "You can't... You can't just do this and walk away."

"Of course I can. You can barely breath let alone stand. But don't worry, my friends will take care of you..."

The Fears

Quickly realizing that The Dethroned Queen was becoming far too powerful to be left alone, the intruders banded together in an attempt to destroy her. It was already too late however, and the Dethroned Queen defeated all of them in a single year.

However not all of the intruders could be defeated so easily. Many of the intruders were hive-minds and others didn't have physical bodies to begin with. Regardless, these creatures were outright impossible to defeat even with the Dethroned Queen's powers restored.

So instead the Dethroned Queen allowed them to retain some control over the world and in exchange these entities were not to interfere with her rule. Among these entities were the Intrusion, the Convocation, the Choir, and the Grotesque.

As for the rest of the intruders, they were either outright executed or managed to escape to other worlds. People suspect that they might be attempting to gather an army to regain what the Dethroned Queen took from them. Considering how it's been fifty years since they left; I sincerely doubt that's going to happen.

Once upon a time...

Countless millennia ago Death was all alone and ruled over all of creation with an iron fist. But like all great empires, Death's kingdom fell and without any explanation, Death was shattered into a million pieces. Shortly after dozens of new "gods" started appearing, splitting control over what once belonged to Death.

Left almost completely powerless Death has no choice but to join these intruder's pantheon in order to maintain a fraction of the power it once had. As time went by and cultures changed, Death would obtain a new name: The Dying Man.

Though the name itself isn't completely accurate; somehow each and every piece that used to be the omnipotent ruler gained a personality of its own and many have convinced themselves to be female despite not having no true gender in the first place. In fact, my mistress is one that believes itself  to be a female but that is besides the point.

Anyway, while each piece had it's own goals they all had one desire in common: Become whole again. Yet throughout the entirety of all of creation, only one piece managed to succeed. Or at least that is what our mistress wants us to think. Perhaps if I were omnipotent like her I could confirm it.

You see I live in a world where a Dying Man piece succeeded in their mission to become whole. Once known as the Dethroned Queen, Death has reclaimed this universe from the intruding gods. And now after years of servitude, my mistress has ordered me to create a blog that will act as a record of events on our world and what has changed.
